Medical Helicopters Introduced to Jeju

Medical helicopters for emergency care will be introduced in Jeju. This is the 8th time in the nation.

The provincial office said that Jeju has been selected as a successful candidate for the medical helicopter introductory project by the Ministry of Health and Welfare
and the operation of helicopters will begin in the second half of the year.

Cheju (한라) Halla General Hospital made an application
for this project and it has been selected for the project
after two attempts in 2012 and 2018.

Medical helicopters are equipped with medical appliances
and medical personnels board the helicopters to transport patients
with serious injuries as well as patients with cerebrovascular diseases.

제주가 전국에서 8번째로
응급의료 전용헬기인 닥터헬기를 도입합니다.

제주도는
보건복지부 공모사업인
닥터헬기 도입 사업에 선정돼
올 하반기부터 본격 운영한다고 밝혔습니다.

이번 공모에는
제주한라병원이 단독으로 신청했으며,
지난 2012년과 2018년에 이어
세 번째 도전 끝에 사업에 선정됐습니다.

'날아다니는 응급실'로 불리는 닥터헬기는
기내에 첨단 의료장비를 탑재하고
전문 의료인력이 탑승하는 헬기로,
중증외상환자와 심뇌혈관질환자 등
중증 응급환자를 이송합니다.
