Research on Marine Shipping Costs promoted

The provincial office will promote research on the introduction of public functions into shipping firms.

The province will also introduce a model of subsidizing the costs of marine shipping between the island and the mainland to establish a link plan
by connecting national logistics networks. The aim is to ease disadvantages associated with shipping costs..

The research will be conducted for a total of 10 months. The purposes of the research is introducing public functions into shipping firms to connect Jeju logistics with the national logistics network and to develop a model for subsidizing marine shipping costs.

After developing the model, the provincial government will derive support measures for local logistics through consultation
with related ministries and the national assembly.

National investment in infrastructure helped establish the logistics system in the mainland, but local residents are disadvantaged due to
additional marine shipping costs and low price competitiveness.

제주도는 용역을 통해 지원모델이 개발되면
관련 부처와 국회 등을 상대로
제주 물류에 대한
제도적 지원 방안을 이끌어낸다는 방침입니다.

한편 내륙지역은 국가 차원의 기반시설 투자로
물류시스템이 구현됐지만 제주는 해상운송비 추가 부담이나 가격 경쟁력에서
불이익을 감수하는 상황입니다.
