Illegal Local Currency Exchange Uncovered

The provincial office has uncovered eight cases of illegal currency exchange activities regarding Jeju's local currency "Tamnaneun Jeon" and ordered administrative execution of violators.

During the inspection, uncovered violations included
business owners who exchanged the local currency with cash illegally
without offering goods or services and rejecting the acceptance of the local currency.
Profits made by the violators have been retrieved in full.

Meanwhile, the number of illegal currency exchange activities
regarding the local currency
has amounted to 48 cases since last year.


끊이지 않는 '탐나는전' 부정유통…8건 적발

제주도가
지역화폐 탐나는전의
부정유통 행위를 단속한 결과
모두 8건을 적발해 행정 처분을 내렸습니다.

단속에서는
물품 구매나 용역 제공 없이
탐나는전을 부당하게 환전한 사례,
수취 거부와 판매대행의무 위반 등이 적발됐으며,
부당 이익은 환수 조치됐습니다.

한편 제주에서 적발된
탐나는전 부정유통 건수는
지난해에 이어 올해까지 48건으로,
좀처럼 근절되지 않고 있습니다.
