Largest Decrease in Household Loans

The amount of local household loans has decreased by the largest amount in ten years.

The Jeju Branch of the Bank of Korea said that the total sum of households’ loan balance in February recorded 17 trillion and 510 billion won. This is a 110 billion won decrease compared to January.

This decrease is the biggest drop in ten years since April 2012.

The BOK explained that the increase trend of household loans
has slowed down since October
when strengthened loan regulations and
increase of interest rates were initiated.



'대출 규제 여파' 가계 대출 최대폭 감소

제주도내 가계 대출이
10년 만에 최대폭으로 감소했습니다.

한국은행 제주본부는
지난 2월, 기준 도내 가계 대출 잔액은
17조 5천 1백억여 원으로
1월보다 1천 1백억 원 감소했다고 밝혔습니다.

이는 지난 2012년 4월 이후 10년 만에
가장 큰 감소폭입니다.

한국은행은
정부의 강화된 대출 규제와
금리 상승이 시작된 지난해 10월부터
가계대출 증가세가 둔화되고 있다고
설명했습니다.
