Outdoor Mask Mandate Lifted

Seoul has decided to lift restrictions on mandatory mask-wearing outdoors starting from this week.

The national government said that after monitoring the incidence of COVID-19 cases for the last two weeks,
the government has decided to remove the outdoor mask mandate.

However, people attending rallies, performances and sports events
with more than 50 attendees will be required to wear masks.

In addition, people with suspicious COVID-19 symptoms and high risk groups are recommended to weak face masks outdoors.

People in the situations where many people are gathered
and maintaining more than 1 meter is not possible
or when at places vulnerable to producing a large amount of droplets are also recommended to wear masks.

이번 주부터 야외에서의 마스크 착용 의무가 해제됩니다.

정부는 지난 2주간의 방역상황을 지켜본 결과
확진자 감소세가 뚜렷하다고 판단해
이 같이 결정했다고 밝혔습니다.

다만 50인 이상이 참석하는 집회나 공연, 스포츠 경기 관람 때에는 현재와 같이 마스크 착용 의무가 유지됩니다.

또 코로나19 유증상자 또는 고위험군인 경우와
다수가 모인 상황에서 1미터 이상 거리유지가 어렵거나 비말 생성이 많은 경우에는 실외 마스크 착용을 적극 권고한다고 덧붙였습니다.
