President Moon ‘Not the time to Discuss For-Profit Hospitals’

President Moon Jae-in answered the national petition asking the national government to purchase a for-profit hospital in Jeju. President Moon said that it is too early to implement the measures of purchasing the hospital by the government.

President Moon answered seven national petitions as the last respondents of national petitions during his administration.

President Moon gave an answer on the national petition regarding the for-profit hospital that he shared the concern of health service privatization.

He added that a legal suit on the hospital is ongoing
and that the final judicial judgment needs to be considered
and stated that it is too early to discuss measures of
purchasing the medical institution by the government.

President Moon also said that he hopes that the national government
will take more responsibility for public health services.

국민청원에 대해 문재인 대통령이 직접 답변에 나서
국가 매수 방안은 아직 이르다고 밝혔습니다.

문 대통령은 문재인 정부 국민청원의 마지막 답변자로 나서
7건의 청원에 대해 직접 답했습니다.

문 대통령은 제주 영리병원 국가 매수를 요청한 국민청원에 대해
의료민영화 우려에 공감한다면서도,
해당 병원은 소송이 진행 중으로 최종 사법적 판단을 지켜봐야 하고
국가 매수 방안도 아직은 말하기에 이른 상황이라고 말했습니다.

그러면서 공공의료에 대한 국가책임을 강화하는 방향으로
우리 사회가 계속 전진하길 바란다고 덧붙였습니다.
