14% of Residents’ Complaints Rejected
It was reported that the Jeju City Municipal Office has determined that 14% of residents’ complaints were not accepted for the last two years.
According to the Jeju City, 565 of the complaints were handled successfully among 1336 complaints received from 2020 through this year.
189 proposals, which is 14% of the total number of complaints, were rejected, 269 proposals, which take 20%, were classified as long-term review cases and the other 23%, which amounts to 313 cases,
are being pushed forward with.
The Jeju City office said that those rejected complaints cannot be handled due to legal and institutional, procedural issues as well as problems with social equity. However, the office added that if the complaints can be settled after system reforms, the officials will review the complaints in the future.

제주시가 지난 2년간
시민들의 건의 사항 가운데 14% 정도를
수용할 수 없다는 방향으로 결론지은 것으로 나타났습니다.
제주시에 따르면,
지난 2020년부터 올해까지 접수된 시민건의 1천 336건 가운데
42%인 565건이 완료됐습니다.
14%에 해당하는 189건은 수용 불가,
20%인 269건은 장기 검토로 분류됐고
나머지 23%에 해당하는 313건은 추진 중입니다.
제주시는
법령이나 제도상 불가하거나
사회적 형평성 문제, 절차상 문제 등으로
수용 불가한 사항이라며
추후 제도개선 등을 통해 해결할 수 있다면
재검토하겠다고 설명했습니다.
