Jeju’s Mandarin Orange Flowering 5 Days Late

This year’s flowering of outdoor-grown mandarin oranges is delayed
by five days compared to last year.

According to the Jeju Agricultural Research & Extension Services, the flowering of the mandarins was observed on the 2nd
in coastal areas and on the 5th in mid-mountainous areas.

The flowering period around Jeju is five days later than last year
and similar to the average year.

The Jeju Agricultural Research & Extension Services analyzed that the flowering period is delayed compared to last year
due to the lower average temperatures from February through April and the effects of winter drought and cold snap.

The Jeju Agricultural Research & Extension Services asks farmers to pay attention to pest control and manage the growth of the fruits during the early stage of flowering.

올해 노지감귤 개화 시기가
지난해보다 늦은 것으로 파악됐습니다.

제주도농업기술원에 따르면,
해안 지역은 지난 2일,
중산간 지역에서는 지난 5일부터
노지감귤 개화가 관측됐습니다.

개화 시기를 제주 전체로 봤을 때
지난해보다 5일 정도 늦고
평년과는 비슷한 수준입니다.

농업기술원은
지난 2월부터 지난달까지 평균기온이
지난해보다 낮았고
겨울철 가뭄과 한파 등의 영향으로 분석했습니다.

이에따라 개화 초기
해충 발생에 따른 방제와
생육 관리에 유의해줄 것을 부탁했습니다.
