Gulfweed as an Alternative to Plastic

A project is underway to develop gulfweed, which harms local oceans, into agricultural vinyl.

The Jeju Agricultural Research & Extension Services made a business agreement with a company to develop liquid mulch by using byproducts from agriculture and fisheries.

A company which succeeded in the production will participate in the project to develop liquid mulch using gulfweed to replace plastic film mulching.

The Jeju Agricultural Research & Extension Services will verify the effects of the new technique and will make a plan to distribute
the new techniques to farmers.

관련 기업과 업무협약을 체결했습니다.

괭생이 모자반을 활용한
액상 멀칭제 추출에 성공한 기업이 참여해
농업용 피복 비닐을 대체하는
액체 상태의 뿌리는 멀칭제를 실증 개발하게 됩니다.

농업기술원은
해당 기술의 효과를 검증한 뒤
농가 보급을 위한 구체적인 방안을 모색할 계획입니다.
