Different Stance on Odeungbong Park Project

The candidates for Jeju Province governor are showing different perspectives on follow-up investigation on a special favor offered to business operators during the Odeungbong Park Development project.

According to the written answers of governor candidates sent to the Jeju office of the Korean Federation For Environmental Movement, four province governor candidates showed their stances
on the investigation of the special favor issue
and need to withdraw the project depending
on the results of the investigation.

(부순정) Boo Soon-jung, the candidate of the Green Party Korea
and an independent candidate (박찬식) Park Chan-sik agreed
with the need for investigation and withdrawal of the project
based on the investigation results.

(오영훈) Oh Young-hun, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, said that an audit by the Board of Audit and Inspection is required,
rather than an investigation by the provincial government.

On the other hand, (허향진) Heo Hyang-jin, the candidate for the People Power Party, disagreed with the need for an investigation and withdrawal of the project.

사업 특혜와 비리 의혹에 대한 도정 차원의 조사와 조사 결과에 따른 사업철회 요구에 대해
녹색당 부순정, 무소속 박찬식 후보는
동의 의견을 밝혔습니다.

더불어민주당 오영훈 후보는 공감은 하지만 도정 차원의 조사보다는
감사원 감사가 필요하다는 의견을 보였습니다.

반면 국민의힘 허향진 후보는 의혹에 대한 조사와 사업 철회를 반대한다는
의견을 보인 것으로 확인됐습니다.
