Provincial Government to Purchase Darangshi Cave

The provincial government will push forward the maintenance of historical sites of the April 3rd Incident by purchasing (다랑쉬) Darangshi Cave with a special subsidy tax worth 700 million won this year.

The provincial office negotiated with the land owner, an educational cooperation, about purchasing the land. The foundation showed an intention to sell the land.

After the approval of the Ministry of Education, the appraisal, assessment and purchase will be conducted.
The provincial government plans to purchase the land within the year.

After purchasing the land, the provincial government will collect opinions from related organizations, including the Association for the Bereaved Families.

As a follow-up authorities will promote the maintenance projects, such as creating roads to (다랑쉬) Darangshi Cave including a parking lot.


4·3유적지 '다랑쉬굴' 토지 매입·정비 추진

제주도가 올해 특별교부세 7억 원을 투입해
다랑쉬굴 매입을 통한 4.3 유적지 정비를 추진합니다.

이에따라 제주도는 토지 소유주인 모 학교법인과 토지 매수 협의를 진행해
매각의사가 있다는 의견을 전달받았다고 밝혔습니다.

앞으로 교육부의 허가를 받으면 감정평가와 토지매입 절차를 진행하고
연내에 토지를 매입할 계획입니다.

제주도는 토지를 매입한 뒤에는
4.3유족회 등 관련 기관 의견수렴을 통해
다랑쉬굴 진입로와 주차장 조성 같은
유적지 정비 사업을 추진할 방침입니다.
