Jeju with Highest Growth of Consumer Prices

Jeju’s consumer prices show the highest growth rate in the nation during the first quarter.

According to the reports released by the National Statistical Office, the growth rate of nationwide consumer prices records 3.8% due to the increase in the prices of petroleum and eating out.

This figure is the highest growth following the fourth quarter in 2011
when the growth rate reaches 4%.

By region, Jeju recorded the highest increase rate with 4.7%. On the other hand, Seoul’s consumer prices increased by 3.3%, the lowest growth rate in the nation.

Jeju's consumer price growth is attributed to the increase of petroleum price by 24.6%.

올해 1분기 제주지역의 물가 상승률이
전국에서 가장 높은 것으로 조사됐습니다.

통계청이 발표한 올해 1분기 지역경제동향에 따르면
전국 소비자물가 상승률은
석유류와 외식 가격 상승으로 인해 3.8%로 나타났습니다.

이같은 전국 물가상승률은 지난 2011년 4분기 당시 4% 이후 10여년만에 가장 높은 것입니다.

지역별로 보면 제주가 4.7%로 가장 높았으며
반대로 서울은 3.3%로 가장 낮았습니다.

특히 제주의 경우 석유류 상승률이 24.6%에 이르며 전반적인 물가상승을 주도했습니다.
