Consumer Prices Highest Since 2008

Consumer prices in Jeju continue to rise adding burden on residents.

The National Statistical Office announced that the consumer price index on the island last month was 108.58. That is 6.3 percent higher than a year ago.

This is the highest figure after 14 years since August, 2008 when consumer prices increased by 5.6%.

As oil prices have skyrocketed due to the international situation,
prices for industrial products were up by 9.7%.
Prices of services, agricultural and fishery products and fresh foods are also growing,
including prices for pork and imported beef that climbed 26.3% and 16%, respectively.

계속 상승하면서 가계 부담이 커지고 있습니다.

통계청에 따르면
지난 달 제주지역 소비자물가지수는 108.58로
1년 전보다 6.3% 올랐습니다.

2008년 8월 5.6%가 오른 이후
14년 만에 역대 최고치를 경신했습니다.

국제 정세 여파로 기름 값이 급등하면서
연관 업종인 공업 제품 가격이 9.7% 상승했고
돼지고기 26.3%, 수입 소고기 16%로
농축수산물과 신선식품 그리고 서비스 물가도
덩달아 오르고 있습니다.
