Dismissal Accepted on April 3rd Retrial

The Jeju District Public Prosecutor's Office accepted the dismissal of the appeal which was decided by the Jeju District Court,
on the retrials of the April 3rd Incident.

The prosecutor’s office said that as the standards of retrial procedures are suggested in the ruling of the court,
the office decided not to make a re-appeal.

Prosecutors added that they will try to carry out the retrials on the April 3rd Incident to clear the names of the victims of the April 3rd Incident
and restore their honor.

The District Prosecutor’s Office has currently made an appeal on the retrial process of 14 prisoners during the April 3rd Incident.
However, the court dismissed the appeal, saying that no issues are involved in the retrial procedures.

검찰이 법원의 4.3 직권 재심 항고 기각 결정을
수용했습니다.

제주지방검찰청은
법원의 항고 기각 결정문에
재심 절차에 대한 기준이 제시됐다며
법원에 재항고를 하지 않겠다고 밝혔습니다.

앞으로
4.3 희생자 명예회복과 구제를 위해
직권 재심 절차에도 차질이 없도록 하겠다고
강조했습니다.

검찰은 지난 3월 4.3 수형인 14명에 대한 직권 재심 절차에 이의를
제기하며 법원에 항고했지만,
법원은 문제가 없다며 기각했습니다.
