Five Noise Complaints Filed Per Day

The number of complaints in residential areas has increased, as more people are opening their windows with the rise in temperature.

According to the Jeju City and Seogwipo City municipal offices, a total of 860 complaints on noise and vibration have been reported this year, indicating five complaints have been filed on average per day.

As one of the main reasons of complaints, loud noises made by delivery scooters and neighborhood restaurants were of the main sources of noise, as more people have began to open their windows of their homes

The two city governments will inspect the areas where lots of noise complaints have been made and illegal remodeling of motor bikes.

배달업이 성행하면서
생활소음 민원이 잇따르고 있습니다.

양 행정시에 따르면,
올 들어 지금까지 접수된
소음과 진동 민원은 860여 건으로
하루 평균 5건 꼴로 집계됐습니다.

여름철 창문을 열고 생활하는 가정이 늘면서
소음에 민감해졌고 야간에 영업하는 주점이나
배달 오토바이에서 발생하는 소음이
늘었기 때문으로 풀이됩니다.

양 행정시는 소음 민원이 지속적으로 발생하는 지역을
집중 점검하고 불법 개조한 오토바이에 대한 단속을
추진하기로 했습니다.
