Pet Cremation Services Introduced in Jeju

Mobile pet cremation services and pet funeral services will be introduced in Jeju.

(위성곤) Wi Seong-gon, lawmaker of the Democratic Party of Korea, proposed the revision of the Jeju Special Act, stipulating that the standard of the facility for animal cremation services can be determined by the ordinance.

After the revision of the bill, mobile pet cremation services using the vehicles equipped with pet cremation facilities can be introduced.

There are no pet cremation facilities in Jeju due to the opposition of residents and environmental problems. Thus, people are abandoning dead bodies of animals using plastic waste bags or using animal cremation services in other regions.

찾아가는 장례 서비스를 도입하는 방안이 추진됩니다.

동물 장묘업 영업장의 시설기준을
조례로 정하도록 하는
제주특별법 개정안을 대표 발의했습니다.

법이 개정되면
제주에도
화장시설을 갖춘 차량 등을 이용한
이동식 장묘시설이 도입될 수 있습니다.

현재 제주에는 환경 문제와 주민 반대 등으로
반려동물 장묘 시설이 없어
반려동물 사체를 쓰레기 봉투에 담아 버리거나
다른지역에 있는 시설로 이동해
장례를 치르고 있습니다.
