Province Urges to Prevent Diaporthe citri

With the monsoon hitting the island, the management of Diaporthe citri, which is expected to spread out especially in Seogwipo City, is needed.

The Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Services said that since the lowest temperature exceeds 20 degrees Celsius recently and rain falls frequently, which lead mandarin oranges to be wet for more than 12 hours, the possibility of Diaporthe citri will be high.

In particular, 70% of Diaporthe citri occurs during the rainy season between the end of June and middle of July.

The Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Services urge local farmers to work to prevent the diseases. Otherwise, chemicals need to be sprayed within 48 hours after rain stops.

제주도농업기술원은
최근 최저온도가 20도를 넘고
비 날씨가 잦아지면서
감귤 열매가 젖어있는 시간이 12시간을 넘어
검은점무늬병 발생 위험이
높은 것으로 보고 있습니다.

특히 검은점무늬병은
6월 하순부터 7월 중순까지 장마기에
70% 이상 감염되는 것으로 분석되고 있습니다.

이에따라 농업기술원은
비가 내리기 전에 방제하고
방제를 놓친 경우에는
비가 그친 뒤 48시간 이내에
전용 약제를 살포해야 한다고 강조했습니다.
