Province to Support Relief Funds for Residents

All Jeju residents will be eligible for COVID-19 disaster relief funds which are expected to be dispatched as early as next month.

Each department is discussing on details with regards to the relief funds and is working to include the plan in this year's first supplementary budget which will be submitted to the Jeju Provincial Council next week.

Although the specific amount for the relief fund is yet to be confirmed, the government is considering offering approximately 100,000 won per person for all provincial residents and 300,000 to 400,000 won per household based on households with 4 members.

There is a high chance that the funds will be released in local currency known as (탐나는전) Tamnanenjun rather than in cash.

The province explained that once the amont of funds are decided, it will be proposed as part of the supplementary budget to the provincial council for final review by the provincial council.




'전 도민 지원금' 추진…1명당 10만원 안팎 유력


제주도민 전체를 대상으로
이르면 다음달 중 코로나19 재난지원금이 지급될 전망입니다.

제주도는 다음주 제주도의회에 제출하는 올해 첫 추가경정예산안에 도민 지원금을 포함하는 방안을 놓고 각 부서별로 세부 논의를 진행하고 있습니다.

구체적인 지원 규모는 확정되지 않았지만 전 도민을 대상으로 한명당 10만 원 안팎, 4인 가구 기준으로는 가구당 30에서 40만 원을 지급하는 방안이 유력하게 검토되는 것으로 전해졌습니다.

지원 방식은 현금이 아닌
지역화폐인 탐나는전을 통한
방식이 유력한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

제주도는 내부적으로 지급 규모를 정한 뒤 도의회에 추경안을 제출하면 도의회 논의 과정을 거쳐 최종 확정될 예정이라고 설명했습니다.
