Successful Production of Seaweed Sea Staghorn

The province has successfully harvested Seaweed Sea Staghorn for the first time via somatic embryogenics.

The Jeju Ocean and Fisheries Institute said that it succeeded in breeding Seaweed Sea Staghorn through underwater cultivation using Somatic embryogenics after a six months of trial period.
The harvest was done at a fishing ground in (남원리) Namwon-ri, Seogwipo City.

It is the first time in the province to successfully breed Seaweed Sea Staghorn using embryogenics.

In order to help promote the cultivation of the seaweed, the Jeju Ocean and Fisheries Institute plans to provide training facilities and support cultivation farms to villages.


도내 첫 해조류 '청각' 인공종자 생산 성공


제주에선 처음으로 해조류 청각의 인공종자 생산에 성공했습니다.

제주도 해양수산연구원은 서귀포시 남원리 마을어장에서
청각 인공종자 생산과
수중 양성을 추진한 결과
6개월 만에 첫 수확했다고 밝혔습니다.

청각 인공종자 생산은 도내에서 처음입니다.

제주도해양수산연구원은 청각 수확량 증대를 위한 양성 시설을 개량하고
마을 어장에 해조장을
보급할 계획입니다.
