70,000 Animals Released in the Sea

Jeju Marine Fisheries Research and Extension Services released 70,000
yellow corvina into water ways surrounding northern (관탈도) Gwantal Island and coastal waters around (고내) Gonae Port in Aewol-eup.

Corvinas were released according to their spawning routes which spend winters in the southwest sea, migrate to the west coast from April to May, and south in the fall.

Corvinas usually grow 20cm in 1 to 2 years of discharge.


In terms of catch and sales, Yellow Corvina comes in second place to Hairtail and accounts for 30% of the Nation’s catch.

애월읍 고내포구에 방류했습니다.

참조기는 제주 남서쪽 바다에서 겨울을 보내고 4~5월쯤 서해안에서 산란한 뒤 가을에 다시 남하하는 회유성 어종으로 이 같은 이동경로에 맞게 치어를 방류한 것입니다.

제주도는 방류한 지 1~2년 지나면 약 20cm까지 성장해 어업인 소득에 도움이 될 것으로 내다봤습니다.

한편 참조기는 제주에서 갈치 다음으로
어획량과 위판액이 많고
지난해 기준
전국 참조기 어획량의 30%를 차지하고 있습니다.
