New PET Bottle Management Working

The separation of discharged transparent PET bottles is gaining momentum.

During the first half of the year, Jeju City gained 246 million won worth of earnings with 422 tons of transparent PET bottle waste.

Earnings have tripled from 127 tons from the same period last year, and the average daily collection reached 2.3 tons from 0.7 tons in the first half of last year.

Clean houses now collect transparent PET bottles separately and in exchange offer recycling trash bags for returns that exceed a certain amount.



투명페트병 별도배출 '효과'…상반기 2억4천 수익

투명페트병 별도배출 시책이 조금씩 효과를 거두고 있습니다.

제주시는 올 상반기동안 투명페트병 422톤을 수거하고 이를 판매해 2억 4천 600만원의 수익을 거뒀습니다.

지난해 같은 기간 127톤에 비해 3배 이상 증가한 것으로 하루 평균 수거량도 지난해 상반기 0.7톤에서 최근에는 2.3톤에 이르고 있습니다.


제주시는 클린하우스마다 투명페트병 전용 수거함을 별도로 비치해 운영하고 있으며 일정물량 이상 갖고오면 종량제 봉투로 교환해주고 있습니다.
