Inspections Held to Prevent Fires at Ports

The province will conduct safety inspections following fishing boat fires that occurred at (성산) Seongsan Port and (한림) Hallim Port.

The province plans to inspect fire-fighting facilities on board ships and offer management tips for fishing boats mooring at the port until next month.

Inspections will begin at highly concentrated ports including (성산) Seongsan and (한림) Hallim Ports where large-scale accidents are prone to happen and will be phased out to smaller ports.

The province urges boat owners to be present during check ups for efficient role out of inspections.

최근 성산항과 한림항에서 어선 화재사고가 잇따라 발생함에 따라
제주도가 소방 안전 점검에 나섭니다.

이에따라 다음 달까지 도내 항.포구에 계류한 어선을 대상으로 선내 소방시설을 점검하고
소화시설 관리요령을 교육할 계획입니다.

점검은
성산항, 한림항과 같이
어선이 밀집돼
대형사고 확산 우려가 높은 항.포구를 시작으로
소규모 어항까지 단계적으로 진행됩니다.


제주도는 어선주가 동행하지 않을 경우
원활한 승선 점검이 어렵다며
점검 일정에 맞춰 어선주들의 동참을 주문했습니다.
