Repair on Haenyeo Heritage Sites

The province plans to do repairs to preserve (불턱) Bultuks and (해신당) Haesindang shrines, heritages of the 해녀 Haenyeo women divers.

Repairs will be made at 3 locations including areas damaged by natural disasters such as typhoons.

The stones will be refurbished to their original form.

The province will also develop a maintenance manual for sustained management and will discuss on designating Haenyeo Heritage as a regional heritage.



해녀유산 불턱·해신당 6곳 보수 정비 추진

제주도가 해녀 유산인 불턱과 해신당 등을
보수 정비합니다.

정비 대상은 행정시에서 신청한 3곳과 태풍 같은 자연재해로 훼손된 3곳입니다.

특히 정비 과정에서 석재는 현장 주위의 돌만 사용하는 등 옛 주민들의 방식으로 원형에 가깝게 정비한다는 방침입니다.
제주도는 원형 보수를 위해 기본 실측과 보수 매뉴얼을 구축하고 해녀유산이 향토유산으로 지정될 수 있도록 협의할 계획입니다.
