Seogwipo Blood Donation Center Reopens

A blood donation center in Seogwipo City will resume its operation for the first time in 20 years.

The Korea Red Cross announced that the Seogwipo Blood Donation Center will be in full operation beginning this week.

It has been 20 years since the center was in operation in Jungang-ro, Seogwipo-si since its closure in January 2002. It will be the only in the country that self run and not funded by the national treasury.

Until now, blood donation was only possible in Jeju City or through donation vehicles which only operated up to twice a month.



헌혈의집 서귀포센터 20년 만에 운영 재개

서귀포시 지역 헌혈자들을 위한 헌혈의집 서귀포센터가 20년만에 운영이 재개됩니다.


대한적십자사 제주혈액원은 이번 주부터(방송 18일 기준) 헌헐의집 서귀포센터가 본격 운영에 들어간다고 밝혔습니다.

이는 지난 2002년 1월 서귀포시 중앙로에 있던 헌혈의집이 폐소 된 지 20년 만으로 전국에서 유일하게 국고가 아닌 지자체 지원으로 운영됩니다.


그동안 서귀포 지역에서 헌혈을 하기 위해서는 제주시까지 이동하거나
한달에 1~2회
헌혈버스가 올 때만 가능했습니다.
