Agricultural Machines Rental Services


Mr. (강민설) Gang Min-seol immigrated to Jeju a few years ago for farming.
He is learning how to control a mini-excavator.
With control of the dipper, the soil-shifting machine digs up a bucket of soil.
The more skillful his control becomes, the more he enjoys it.

It would be a big burden if I should buy the excavator because of its high price. I’m joining the machine operation training program here which would be a big help to me. At first it was hard and I was nervous as I’m not familiar with the machine, but I’m enjoying it now.


Mini-excavators are really needed for farming, but operating them can be dangerous.
Safety education is required for renting the machines.
Mini-excavators have a high risk of rollover, so there are many more precautions to learn.

Many might think an excavator is not dangerous, but they would be wrong. Excavators have to work on flat ground, but if they work on slopes without care, they can turn over. And if there is somebody around the machine, extra care is needed.


Excavators are not used that frequently- for some farmers, only four or five times a year, but they are essential to farming operations.
The Seogwipo Agricultural Research and Extension Service is lending machines as they usually cost tens of millions of won per unit, along with providing safety training.


The organization is planning to rent agricultural machines and offer safety education to 300 farmers every year.

몇년전 제주로 귀농한 강민설씨.

농사일에 필요한 미니 굴착기 작동법을 연습하고 있습니다.

굴착기로 땅을 파내자 흙이 한무더기씩 올라오고
점점 능숙해지는 손길에 흥미가 점점 올라갑니다.

"장비를 가격이 고가니까 제가 구입을 못하고 교육이 있다고 해서 저한테 많은 도움이 될 것 같아서 찾아왔고요. 처음에 많이 떨리고 기능도 숙달이 안 돼서 어려웠는데 재미도 있고 괜찮아요. 할만해요."

기계를 임대해가려면
이렇게 일정 시간의
안전교육을 필수로 받아야 합니다.

미니굴착기는 특히 전복 사고 위험이 높아서
익혀야 할 주의사항이 더욱 많습니다.

"왠지 사고와 관련이 없을 것 같지만, 상당히 위험한 장비입니다. 보통 굴삭기가 평지에서 작업을 해야 하는데 경사지에서 아무런 주의 없이 작업을 한다거나 하면 전복될 수도 있고 혹은 작업 중에 주위에 사람이 있을 경우 조심해서 작업을 하거나…."


일년에 4-5번씩 꼭 필요한 장비지만,
수천만원대 고가의 장비인 만큼
농민들이
개인적으로 구매하기엔 부담이 되는데
이렇게 교육을 실시하고 대여를 해주는 겁니다.


서귀포농업기술센터는 앞으로도
한해 300명의 농민들에게
안전교육을 실시하고
기계를 임대해줄 예정입니다.
