Opposition on Japan’s Dumping Radioactive Waters
Following Japan’s decision to discharge nuclear-contaminated water into the ocean, groups in the province are raising their voices.
An association called ‘Denuclearization Climate Crisis Jeju Action’ consisting of 12 local organizations held a press conference on the 26th urging the Japanese government to withdraw its decision. The organization highlighted concerns relating to Jeju's marine safety and ecosystem.
The group called on the Korean government to take strong measures against Japan’s government which claims there are no problems with the discharge without any analysis.
It also raised the need for an organization to operate measures against the discharge.
