Jeju-China Friendship Week, 30 Years

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the institution of diplomatic relations between Korea and China, an opening ceremony of the Jeju-China Exchange City Friendship Week was held at the Jeju Arts Center on the 5th.

The event, which was co-hosted by the province and the Chinese Consulate General, was attended by Governor 오영훈 and Chinese Ambassador to Korea Xing Haiming.


At the meeting, representatives from 20 Chinese Exchange Friendship cities attended. There Provincial Governor Oh encouraged promoting Korea-China exchanges dampened by COVID-19 by gradually expanding and boosting economic partnership in the latest growth domains and existing industries.

Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Xing Haiming remarked that the two countries should work to develop relationships for another 30 years.

Following the opening ceremony, various cultural events, including fashion shows, choir arrangements, and dances, were performed along with a joint orchestra with representatives from the friendship cities.

In addition, until the 11th, the Jeju Literary and Arts Center will showcase exhibits, including calligraphy art, provincial specialties, and time-honored clothing, and also present food tasting events.



한-중 수교 30주년 '제주-중국 교류도시 우호주간'

한중 수교 30주년을 맞아 제주 - 중국 교류도시 우호주간 개막식이 5일 오후 제주도문예회관 대극장에서 열렸습니다.


제주도와 주제주중국총영사관이 공동 주최한 오늘 행사에는 오영훈 지사와 싱하이밍 주한 중국대사 등 제주도와 20개 중국 교류도시 관계자 등이 참석했습니다.


이 자리에서 오영훈 지사는 앞으로
코로나19로 위축된 한-중간 관광교류를
점차적으로 확대하고
기존산업과 더불어 신성장 분야의
경제협력을 강화하자고 강조했습니다.


싱하이밍 주한 중국대사는 양국 관계를 안정적으로 발전시키고
새로운 30년을 열어나가자고 말했습니다.

개막식 이후에는 제주도와 중국 교류도시간 합동 오케스트라와 합창, 패션쇼, 무용 등 다양한 문화행사가 열렸습니다.


이와 함께 우호주간인 내일까지(11일) 제주도문예회관에서는 서예 미술작품 전시와 특산품, 전통복식, 음식 체험 등의 행사가 선보이게 됩니다.
