Wild Boar Damage in Seogwipo City

A series of reports were made on wild boar damage in the middle mountainous regions of Seogwipo raising awareness for caution.

According to Seogwipo City, 63 wild boars were captured last month, exceeding 56 that were caught last year.

They are reported to appear in middle mountainous areas, causing damage to crop and appearing in public facilities such as temples, golf courses, and in some cases threatening humans.

This year Seogwipo City has secured 90 million won to reward wild boar capture activities.

최근 서귀포 중산간에서 멧돼지 피해 신고가 잇따르고 있어 주의가 요구됩니다.

서귀포시에 따르면 지난 달까지 포획된 멧돼지는 63마리로 지난해 56마리를 이미 넘었습니다.

중산간 지역에 출몰해 농작물 피해를 주고 사찰과 골프장 같은 대중 이용 시설에도 나타나면서 인명 피해도 우려되고 있습니다.

서귀포시는 올해 맷돼지 포상금으로 9천만 원을 확보하고 지속적으로 포획활동을 벌이고 있습니다.
