Governor Pushes for Mayor Appointment

Jeju Governor (오영훈) Oh Young-hoon has been embroiled in various controversies, including violations of the Farmland Act, while pushing forward with the appointment of (강병삼) Kang Byung Sam and (이종우) Lee Jong-woo as the two administrative mayors.

The governor held a press conference on the morning of the 23rd and said he made a bold decision to recruit people centered leaders for the positions.

He added that he made the decision after much thought and would take responsibility for the decision made.
He also promised to take lessons learned from the appointment process and enhance the selection process to meet the people's expectations.

Right after the press conference, Governor (오영훈) Oh delivered the appointment letter to the two administrative mayors, Kang and Lee.

오 지사는 23일 오전 제주도청 기자실에서 기자회견을 열고
강병삼. 이종우 양 행정시장과 함께 도민의 염원을 하나하나 실현하기 위한 담대한 도전을 시작하겠다고 말했습니다.

수 없이 번민한 끝에 결정하게 됐고 선택에 대한 책임은 짊어지고 가겠다고 덧붙였습니다.

또 인선 과정에서 제기된 문제들을 교훈 삼아
다시 마음을 가다듬는 채찍질로 삼아 도민들의 눈높이에 부응할 수 있는
발탁 인사 시스템을 만들어 가겠다고 밝혔습니다.
