4th Accrediation for ‘Int’l Safe City’ Status

Jeju Island is closer to becoming the first Asian country to receive its 4th accreditation as a safe international city.

According to the province, the fourth official review of the international safety city accreditation was held both online and offline, to assess the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters on the 30th and 31st.

Lucia Maria Rotrian, chairman of the judging committee, reportedly said that Jeju's efforts and achievements well meet international recognition standards, and said that the final decision will be notified in September.

If accredited, Jeju will be Asia's first to receive the accreditation for the 4th time.

제주도가 아시아 최초로 국제안전도시 4차 공인이 가시화되고 있습니다.

제주도에 따르면 지난 30일과 31일 이틀동안 제주소방안전본부에서 국제안전도시 4차 공인 최종 심사가 온.오프라인으로 진행됐습니다.

이번 심사에서 루시아 마리아 로트리안 심사위원장은 그동안 제주가 추진해온 노력과 성과는 국제안전도시 공인 기준에 충족한다면서 최종 결정은 9월중에 통보되지만 공인은 매우 긍정적일 것이라고 말한 것으로 전해졌습니다.

이번에 제주가 국제안전도시로 공인되면 아시아 최초로 4차례나 공인되는 쾌거로 제주의 위상이 한층 높아질 전망입니다.
