Positive Outcome on Retrial of 30 Prisoners

Jeju Governor Oh Young-hoon(오영훈) shared remarks on the acquittal of 30 prisoners of the Jeju 4.3 retrial that were reviewed on the 6th.

Governor Oh commented on the Jeju District Court's decision that allowed families of Jeju 4.3 prisoners that it was significant to see the revision of the Jeju 4.3. Special Act bear fruit after 21 years.

So far, 310 prisoners have been acquitted, and the remaining 1,848 continue to wait for the restoration of their honor.




4·3 군사재판 수형인 30명 무죄 판결 환영"

6일 제12차 직권재심을 통해 4.3 군사재판 수형인 30명 모두 무죄를 선고받은 것과 관련해 오영훈 제주도지사가 환영의 입장을 밝혔습니다.

오 지사는
제주지방법원의 이번 결정으로 4.3 수형인 유가족들이 억울함을 내려놓고 추석을 보낼 수 있게 되었고, 21년 만에 이룬 4.3 특별법 개정이 차근차근 뜻깊은 열매를 맺고 있어 감회가 남다르다고 밝혔습니다.

지금까지 직권 재심으로 무죄를 받은 4.3 군사재판 수형인은 모두 310명이며, 남은 1천 848명의 수형인이 명예회복을 기다리고 있습니다.
