9 Election Criminals Under Investigation


The police have completed their investigation on 17 crimes related to the last regional elections. More than half were sent to prosecution.

The Jeju Police Agency handed over nine election offenders to the prosecution, including a case related to Governor Oh Young-hoon, who is suspected of illegal pre-election campaigns. Eight cases were not sent to prosecution.

The remaining 20 cases, with 31 people involved are still under investigations.

A total of 19 crimes were investigated in the last presidential election, and 8 of them were sent to the prosecution and 11 were not sent.





경찰, 지방선거 사범 9건 검찰 송치…20건 수사중


경찰이 지난 지방선거 사범 17건에 대한 수사를 마무리 하고 이 가운데 절반이 넘는 9건을 검찰로 송치했습니다.

제주경찰청은 불법 사전 선거운동 혐의를 받고 있는 오영훈 도지사 후보 지지서명 관련 사건을 비롯해 지방선거 사범 9건을 검찰에 넘기고 8건은 송치하지 않고 사건을 종결했습니다.

나머지 지방선거 사범 20건, 31명에 대해서는 현재 수사를 진행하고 있습니다.

지난 대통령선거 사범도 모두 19건을 수사해 이 가운데 8건을 검찰에 송치하고 11건은 불송치했습니다.
