Provincial Staff Restructuring in Works

The Provincical Support Center, which was first established since the launch of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province will be merged with the central government.

According to a report on the restructuring of the Support Center which was submitted to lawmaker (김한규) Kim Han-kyu, of the Democratic Party of Korea, the Support Center in Jeju and Sejong are to be merged. The two centers will be reducing its number of staff from 29 to 23.

The restructuring will include personnel of the Support Committee in the province.

Such movement is part of the government’s decision announced on the 7th to eliminate or integrate similar orgzanizations among the 600 government committees.

Meanwhulie, the Provincial Council had passed a resolution at its 409th session held on the 16th that opposes integration of provincial committees.

제주특별자치도 지원단이 세종시와 통합됐습니다.

더불어민주당 김한규 의원이 국무조정실로부터 제출받은 특별자치시도지원단 조직개편 현황에 따르면 제주도지원단과 세종시지원단을 통합하며
당초 29명 이었던 인력을 6명 줄어든 23명으로 감축했습니다.

이와함께 제주지원단의 상위조직인
지원위원회도 통폐합 절차를 밟고 있는 것으로 확인됐습니다.


이는 정부가 지난 7일
6백여개 정부 위원회 가운데 유사하거나 중복되는 위원회를
폐지 또는 통합하기로 한데 따른 겁니다.

한편, 제주도의회는 지난 16일 열린 제409회 제1차 정례회에서 제주지원위원회 통합 반대 결의안을 채택한 바 있습니다.
