10% of Acused Coast Guards are from Jeju

Of the coastal guards who were penalized for various irregularities, 10% belonged to Jeju Province.

According to lawmaker (위성곤) Wi Sung-gon of the Democratic Party of Korea, 410 coastal guards have been
disciplined for irregularities in the past five years nationwide. Of these, 40 people were under the Jeju Regional Maritime Police Agency.

They were penalized for drunk driving, sexual misconduct, fraud, and traffic accidents, with dismissal, suspension, and salary reduction.

각종 비위로 징계를 받은 해양경찰 가운데 10%가 제주청 소속으로 나타났습니다.

민주당 위성곤 의원에 따르면 최근 5년 동안 비위 징계를 받은 전국 해양경찰은 410여 명으로 이 가운데 10%에 달하는 40명이 제주지방해양경찰청 소속으로 파악됐습니다.

이들은 음주운전과 성비위, 사기 사건, 교통사고 등으로 파면과 정직, 감봉 등의 징계 처분을 받았습니다.
