Jeju CPI Skyrockets

The consumer price index (CPI) in Jeju continues to skyrocket.

According to National Statistical Office, the CPI reached 110.47 last month, a 0.5% increase from the previous month and 6.7% compared to the same period last year marking the highest point in the country.

By category, livestock and fisheries increased by 8.5%, industrial goods by 8.1%, and service sectors by 5.2%.

In particular, the cost of fresh vegetables soared by 22.8% year-on-year, with costs increasing for cabbages by 83%, radishes by 92%, and paprika by 46%.

Such increases are putting a lot of pressure on households ahead of the Kimchi-making season.

제주지역 소비자물가지수가 고공행진을 이어가고 있습니다.

통계청에 따르면
지난달 소비자물가지수는 110.47로 전달에 비해 0.5%,
지난해 같은 기간에 비해 6.7% 올라 전국에서 가장 높았습니다.

품목별로 보면
농축수산물이 8.5%, 공업제품 8.1%, 서비스 분야도 5.2% 올랐습니다.

특히 배추가 전년 대비 83%,
무 92%, 파프리카 46% 등 신선채소류가 22.8% 폭등했습니다.

이처럼 김장철을 앞두고
소비자 물가지수가 고공행진을 이어가면서
서민가계에 큰 부담을 주고 있습니다.
