Covid-19 Bivalent Booster Shots Available

The province will begin offering Covid-19 vaccine booster injections.

Adults 18 years old and over with weakened immune systems, elders 60 or older, and workers or residents at medical welfare facilities that are vulnerable to infections are eligible for booster shots.

The new round of booster shots will be using Moderna’s bivalent vaccine that targets Omicron subvariants in addition to the original Covid-19 virus.

Reservations opened on September 27th, and the reservation rate for adults age 60 or older currently stands at 1.9% as of now.

The province urges people eligible for the booster shot including residents of facilities vulnerable to infections, adults 60 or over, and those with weakened immune systems to get their booster shots for protection from the resurgence of Covid-19 and influenza infections during the upcoming winter months.
