Jeju City Captures Wild Dogs

Jeju city is planning to capture wild dogs that live in the mountainous areas of the island until the 18th of next month.

Accordingly, Jeju city will install traps near villages and farms where wild dogs frequently show up. It will also conduct an advance investigation to trace down wild dogs with Jeju Municipal Police to increase effectiveness.

Wild dogs mainly live in the hills and mountains of the Island. As they are highly aggressive, concerns have been raised over their attacks on residents as well as livestock in the area.


Meanwhile, Jeju city has captured 336 wild dogs until last month this year.

제주시가
다음달 18일까지 중산간지역을 중심으로
야생화된 개를 집중 포획합니다.

이에따라
출몰 신고가 빈발하는
마을과 목장 주변에 포획틀을 설치하고
포획 실효성을 높이기 위해
자치경찰단과 함께
이동 동선 파악을 위한 사전조사 등을 실시할 방침입니다.

야생화된 개는
주로 산간지역에 서식하며
공격성이 강해
가축 피해와 시민 안전 사고가 우려되고 있는 실정입니다.

한편 제주시는
올들어 지난달까지 야생화된 개 336마리를 포획했습니다.
