More Speeding Tickets Issued on Jeju

With the introduction of safety speed policies, the number of speeding incidents is increasing each year.

According to Lawmaker (박성민) Park Sung-min of the People's Power Party, the number of speeding detections in Jeju has increased year on year, with 185,000 in 2019, 222,000 in 2020, and 315,000 last year.

During the same period, a total of 109 speeding traffic accidents were counted including 20 casualties and 210 people getting hurt.

Park said the number of crackdowns has greatly increased since the implementation of the 5030 campaignes last year, and also stressed the need for preventive measures to be heightened.




안전속도 도입 영향 과속 적발 매년 늘어


안전속도 정책이 도입되면서 과속 단속 건수도 해마다 늘고 있습니다.

국민의힘 박성민 의원에 따르면 경찰의 제주지역 과속 적발 건수는 지난 2019년 18만 5천 건, 2020년 22만 2천 건, 지난해 31만 5천 건으로 매년 늘고 있습니다.

같은 기간 발생한 109건의 과속 교통사고로 20명이 숨지고 210여 명이 다쳤습니다.

박 의원은 안전속도 5030이 시행된 지난해부터 단속 건수가 크게 늘었다며 단속과 함께 예방 대책도 필요하다고 강조했습니다.
