No Compensation for Energy Overflow

Despite growing calls for compensation due to energy overflow of new and renewable energy, the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) concluded it will not take responsibility.

According to assessments done last year by the National Assembly, KEPCO concluded that it will not compensate for the loss based on results from the compensation policy regarding New and Renewable Energy.

Meanwhile, Jeju Energy Corporation forecasts that by the year 2034, the over-generation of energy will cause more than 320 cases of generation curtailment and cause 500 billion won worth of annual loss.

신재생에너지 전력 과잉에 따른 손실 보상 요구가 커지는 가운데
한전이 보상 책임이 없다는 결론을 내렸습니다.

국회 국감 자료 등에 따르면
한전이 지난해 실시한
'신재생발전기 출력제어 보상 정책 연구 용역' 결과
가동 중단에 따른 손실에 대해서는 보상을 하지 않는다는
결론이 내려진 것으로 알려졌습니다.

한편 제주에너지공사는
신재생에너지에 의한 전력 과잉 생산으로
2034년이면 출력제어 횟수가 연간 320회가 넘고
이로 인한 손실액은 5천 억 원에 이를 것으로 예측했습니다.
