Jeju Pier to Pass Feasibility Study

The second stage of the Jeju outer pier project, which had been stalling for quite a while, is expected to be in full swing.

Jeju announced that this project has recently passed a feasibility restudy of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

With 78 billion won of national expenditure by 2027, a 210-meter-long berth will be constructed to dock 20,000 ton cargo ships.

Their original plan to invest 196.5 billion won for the development of berths, coastal piers, and bridges has been reduce and will focus on securing the berth first.

장기간 표류하던 제주외항 2단계 개발사업이 본격 추진될 전망입니다.

제주도는 제주외항 2단계 개발사업이 최근 기획재정부의 타당성 재조사를 통과했다고 밝혔습니다.

이에따라 2027년까지 국비 780억원이 투입돼 2만톤급 화물선 접안이 가능한 210미터 길이의 선석이 조성됩니다.

제주도는 당초 사업비 1천965억원을 투입해 선석과 해경부두, 교량 등을 구축할 계획이었지만 사업을 축소해 선석 확보를 우선 추진하기로 했습니다.
