Illegally Reclaimed of Oreum

Local police caught a man in his 60s who illegally reclaimed an oreum, twice as large as soccer fields.

Jeju Police Agency charged a farmer in his 60s for operating a tourist ranch by diverting 13,000 square meters of an Oreum in Seogwipo without permission and violating the Mountainous District Management Act.

Per the police, the owner is accused of damaging forests and illegally establishing facilities without permission using it for parking lots and building facilities including a tour ranch since 2019.

The ranch was ordered to shut down due to illegal livestock breeding facilities but did not comply with it.

The local police have applied for an arrest warrant for the owner and are currently investigating two employees



'축구장 2배' 오름 불법 개간 60대 적발


축구장 면적 2배에 달하는 오름을 불법 개간한 60대가 자치경찰에 적발됐습니다.

제주도 자치경찰단은 서귀포에 있는 오름 1만 3천 제곱미터를 무단 전용해 관광목장을 운영한 60대 농장주를 산지관리법 위반 등의 혐의로 입건했습니다.

경찰에 따르면 해당 농장주는 지난 2019년부터 체험형 관광목장을 개발하면서 주차장과 부대 시설을 조성할 목적으로 허가 없이 산림을 훼손하고 분뇨 배출시설 등을 불법으로 설치한 혐의를 받고 있습니다.

해당 농장은 불법 가축사육시설 조성을 이유로 폐쇄 명령이 내려졌지만 이를 이행하지 않은 것으로 드러났습니다.

자치경찰은 농장주에 대해 구속영장을 신청하고 직원 2명도 불구속 입건해 수사하고 있습니다.
