The Province plans to establish a Transportation Bureau that will be responsible for public transportation including public trams.

Details of its 4th plan have been announced.

Specifically, 15 major strategies and 29 tasks including the establishment and operation of the Jeju Transportation Bureau and the initiation of island trams.

The Province plans to establish the trams in locations including the center of Seogwipo city, Jeju Shinhwa World and in central areas of Jeju city.

The plan also includes the establishment of the temporarily named Jeju Transportation Bureau which will be responsible for
planning and implementing on a wide range of transportation projects including public buses and trams.

이같은 내용을 담은
제4차 대중교통계획을 확정 고시했습니다.

주요내용을 보면
신교통수단인 트램 도입 추진과 제주교통공사 설립.운영을 비롯해
15대 추진전략에 29개 추진과제를 담았습니다.


트램 도입과 관련해
제주 도심구간 뿐 아니라
서귀포 도심,
신화역사공원이나 영어교육도시 등
제주 전역을 대상으로 도입을 검토하기로 했습니다.

또 기존 각 행정시에서 운영하고 있는 공영버스와 트램 등 다양한 교통신사업을 기획 추진할
가칭 제주교통공사 설립을 반영했습니다.
