With regards to 4.5 billion won that was stolen from the casino at (제주신화월드) Jeju Shinhwa World, a Chinese suspect in his 30s was arrested on the 2nd of the previous month. The suspect will not be imprisoned.

The Jeju Police requested an arrest warrant for the Chinese male who was in his 30s for embezzlement. At the time he was working as a casino agent. The Jeju judicial court decided not to imprison him.

According to the police, the suspect is accused of illegally taking over 14 billion won stored in the casino with a Malaysian aquantance in his 50s who was in charge of fund management at the casino some time around January of 2020.

The arrested suspect is reportedly denying the crime, claiming that the money originally belonged to him.

신화월드 카지노 금고에서 145억 원이 사라진 사건과 관련해
지난 2일 체포됐던 30대 중국 국적 피의자에 대한 구속 영장이 기각됐습니다.

제주경찰청은 카지노 에이젼트 직원이었던 30대 중국인을
업무상 횡령 혐의를 적용해 구속영장을 신청했습니다.
이에 제주지방법원은 지난 5일 영장실질심사에서 구속 영장 청구를 기각했습니다.

경찰에 따르면 피의자는
카지노 자금 관리를 맡았던 말레이시아 국적 50대와 함께
지난 2020년 1월 전후 카지노에 보관중이던 현금 140억여원을
빼낸 혐의를 받고 있습니다.

현재 체포된 피의자는
자신의 돈이라고 주장하면서
범행을 부인하고 있는 것으로 전해졌습니다.
