As livestock manure was found in an owner's farm suspected of illegal activity with regards to closed hog farms, the Jeju police launched an additional investigation.

Per local police, a series of excavations of the farms around closed hog farms in (세화리) Sehwa-ri, (표선면) Pyo-sun-myeon of (서귀포시) Seogwipo city on the 10th to found illegal waste of manure.

The local police reported that the owner illegally buried livestock manure in five of the 2,600-square-meter fields, and thus requested the Korea Institute of Health and Environment to analyze the soil composition.

Following the excavation of the closed hog farm site at the end of last month, two people are under investigation.



불법매립 양돈장 농장주 밭에서도 분뇨 나와…추가 조사

폐업 양돈장 폐기물이 불법 매립됐다는 의혹을 받는 농장주의 밭에서도 가축분뇨가 나와 제주도자치경찰단이 추가 조사에 나섰습니다.

자치경찰에 따르면 지난 10일 서귀포시 표선면 세화리 폐업 양돈장 주변 농장주의 밭을 굴착 조사한 결과 분뇨가 섞인 걸로 의심되는 토양이 잇따라 확인됐습니다.

자치경찰은 농장주가 2천600여 제곱미터 규모의 밭 가운데 5개 지점에 가축분뇨를 불법 매립한 것으로 파악하고 보건환경연구원에 토양 성분 분석을 의뢰했습니다.

자치경찰은 앞서 지난달 말 폐업 양돈장 부지에 대한 굴착을 마무리하고 농장주 등 2명을 조사하고 있습니다.
