The Jeju Provincial Police Agency will conduct a full investigation on audible crosswalk sound signals to help improve the walking environment of the disabled.

The survey will be conducted through February next year and will assess the connection status and operations of 1,700 audible crosswalk sound signals installed at 369 locations in the province.

Per the survey results, necessary follow up measures will be taken by the first half of next year and improvements will be made to the Braille blocks with consultative support by the city administration.

By next year, the autonomous police force will further expand safety facilities for the vulnerable in line with an intelligent transportation system upgrade project.





자치경찰단, 시각장애인용 음향신호기 전수조사


제주도 자치경찰단이 교통약자의 보행 환경개선을 위해 시각장애인용 음향신호기를 전수 조사합니다.

이번 조사는 내년 2월까지 이뤄지며 도내 369곳에 설치된 음향신호기 1천700여 대에 대해 연결상태와 작동 여부를 확인하게 됩니다.


조사 결과 이상이 있을 경우 내년 상반기까지 정비하고 점자블록 또한 행정시와 협의해 개선해 나갈 방침입니다.

자치경찰단는 내년까지 지능형 교통시스템 고도화 사업을 통해 교통약자들을 위한 안전시설을 더욱 확대해 나갈 예정입니다.
