The Bank of Korea has raised its key interest rate from 3.25% per year by 0.25 percentage points to 3.5%.

It is the first time in history that the benchmark interest rate has been raised consecutively for its seventh time since April of last year.

Although interest rates have been raised to stabilize consumer prices, household and corporate burden is expected to rise further for Jeju, which already has a high loan ratio.

한국은행이 현재 연 3.25%인 기준금리를 3.5%로 0.25%포인트 올렸습니다.

지난해 4월부터 일곱 번 연속 기준금리를 올린 것으로 7연속 인상은 사상 처음입니다.

물가 안정을 위해 금리 인상을 단행했지만 대출비율이 높은 제주로서는 가계와 기업의 이자 부담이 더욱 커질 전망입니다.
