Various projects will be carried out to expand urban green spaces this year.

The Province will proceed an urban greening project focusing on residential areas to reduce ‘urban heat island’ effects and establish resting areas for residents.

Jeju will continue to promote climate-responsive urban forests, residential parks, and forests within schools and will focus on building greener road safety zones.

In addition, 3,870 hectares worth of trees will be planted and forested to expand carbon sink sources.




도시 녹지공간 확충…도로변 안전지대 개선


올해 도시 녹지공간 확충사업이 다양하게 추진됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 도시 열섬현상 저감과 도민 휴식공간 제공 등 생활권 주변 도시녹화 사업을 확대합니다.

기후대응도시숲과 생활밀착형숲, 녹색쌈지숲, 학교숲을 지속적으로 추진하고
특히 도로변 안전지대를 녹지공간으로 탈바꿈합니다.

이와 함께 3천 870헥타아르의 산림에 나무심기와 숲가꾸기를 실시해 탄소 흡수원을 확충할 계획입니다.
