Group Blood Donation Drops

As daily life is slowly recovering from the prolonged pandemic, the number of individual blood donors is gradually increasing.

I heard that the number of blood donors decreased a lot, so I decided to donate blood for somebody in need. I feel proud.


Meanwhile, the number of group donors is plunging.


The number of participants in group blood donations was 534 last month.
That's only a half of the goal set by the Jeju Blood Bank.
When compared with one year ago, the number was cut by 38.9 percent.



Mobile blood drives are visiting firms and organizations to encourage donation.
Last month, blood drives visited 47 organizations.
Only 11.4 people joined a group donation from each organization on average.



Blood reserve in Jeju is at 6.8 days as of last Friday.
It's below the recommended reserve of seven days.
As Jeju is an island, it's not easy to respond to possible soaring blood demand in case of emergency.

Blood donation is the only way to save patients requiring blood transfusion. Only 6% of islanders joined blood donations last year. For a smooth blood supply this winter, islanders' donation is encouraged.


Islanders are encouraged to donate blood to share love and help save a life.




일상 회복에도 단체 헌혈 감소 '뚜렷'


제주시 도남동 헌혈의 집입니다.

헌혈을 하는 사람들이 눈에 띕니다.

장기간 이어진 코로나에서 벗어나 일상을 회복하는 가운데
한동안 주춤했던
개인 헌혈 참여자 수는
조금씩 회복세를 보이고 있습니다.

코로나다 뭐다 해서 헌혈자가 많이 줄었다는 얘기도 있고 그래서 좀 적극적으로 헌혈을 한 번 해 봐야겠다 (생각했고). 시간만 내가 좀 내면 그래도 모르는 어딘가서 위급한 분들한테 도움이 될 수 있다는 자부심도 있고요.


하지만 단체 현헐은 눈에 띄게 감소했습니다.



지난달 제주 지역 단체 헌혈 참여자는 모두 534명.

목표치의 절반 정도에 그쳤습니다. (53.4% 달성)

코로나가 확산세를 보이던
전년 같은 기간과 비교해도
40% (38.9%) 가까이 줄었습니다.


단체 헌혈을 위해 헌혈 버스가
회사 등을 방문하더라도 참여율은 저조합니다.

지난달 헌혈에 참여한 단체는 모두 47곳.

단체당 11.4명이 참여하는 데에 그쳤습니다.



제주 지역 혈액 보유량은 6.8일.

섬 지역 특성상
적정 보유량인 7일을 조금 밑돌고 있습니다.

특히 제주의 경우
다른 지역에서의 혈액 수급이 쉽지 않아
큰 사고가 발생하면
빠른 대처가 어려울 수 있습니다.

헌혈은 수혈이 필요한 환자를 살릴 수 있는 유일한 수단입니다. 하지만 작년 기준 제주도 인구 대비 헌혈 참여율은 약 6% 정도에 불과해 동절기 혈액 수급 안정화를 위해 더 많은 도민들의 참여가 필요합니다.

도민들의 지속적인 관심과 참여가 절실해 보입니다.
