Last month, the number of employed people in Jeju dropped for the first time in 17 months.
According to the Jeju branch of the National Statistical Office, the number of employed people in Jeju last month was 391,000, down 1,000 from the same period last year.

It is the first time in 17 months, that the number of employed people in the province fell since September 2021. As a result, the employment rate was 67.6%, down 0.9 percentage points from a year ago.

By industry, employment rates fell in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, construction, and mining industries.




제주 취업자 1천명 줄어…17개월 만에 감소


지난달 제주지역 취업자 수가 17개월 만에 감소세를 기록한 것으로 나타났습니다.
통계청 제주사무소에 따르면 지난달 제주지역 취업자수는 39만 1천명으로 지난해 같은 달과 비교해 1천명 감소했습니다.

도내 취업자 수가 감소한 것은 지난 2021년 9월 이후 17개월 만입니다. 이에 따라 고용률은 67.6%로 1년 전보다 0.9%포인트 하락했습니다.


산업별로 보면 농림어업을 비롯해 건설업, 광공업 등에서 취업자가 줄어든 것으로 나타났습니다.
