Jeju City provides l support from death registration to funeral services for solitary deaths who have no family members or cannot hold funerals due to poverty.

After a funeral agency is selected a funeral process will be carried out and following cremation, ashes will be situated at (양지) Yangji Park enshrinement hall for five years.

Jeju City will cover costs for funeral supplies including veterinary medicine, coffins and related funeral expenses.

It is a one and only funeral support service for solitary deaths in the nation. So far Jeju City has supported 83 cases last year.

제주시가 가족이 없거나 빈곤 등으로 장례를 치를수 없는 무연고 사망자에 대해 장례식부터 사망신고까지 원스톱 지원합니다.

우선 장례대행업체를 선정해 장례절차를 진행하고 화장 후 양지공원 봉안당에 5년간 안치하게 됩니다.

장례식에 필요한 수의와 관 등 장례용품과 장의비 등은 제주시가 모두 부담합니다. 무연고 사망자 장례 지원은 전국에서 유일하며 제주시는 지난해 83건을 지원한 바 있습니다.
